After a hectic day at work, I am heading to Northcote Social Club tonight to see Kristin Hersh. I’ve been a fan for a long time, but have never seen her perform live. Can’t wait for the show!
But it means no time for an extensive #blogjune post today. So, in place of words, here’s the Throwing Muses with Rabbits Dying.

Hope you enjoyed the gig, Mike. I saw her at the Black Bear Lodge in Brisbane last week after seeing your tweet about it – I would have been gutted if I’d missed it. I didn’t need to worry about it being sold out – there was a very small but appreciative crowd (Sunday night of the long weekend – I think most of Brisbane had left town for the weekend). I’m listening to The Real Ramona (1991) tonight. I still reckon it’s one of Throwing Muses’ best and would definitely be in my desert island discs. I bought the new one at the gig but haven’t had time to sit down for a proper listen yet.

I really enjoyed the show. It was intimate and low-fi in the best possible way. I bought the new album at the gig too, but have only had a quick listen. I need to sit down with the book and give it some time.
